Custard House brings together my love of fabric, design and the stories held within beautiful things. My journey began in London, where I studied costume and set design. That creative foundation led me to explore my love of textiles further, studying pattern design and cutting at St Martins. With this passion driving my creative career I have had the honour of working in many exciting companies and projects including creating fabric additions for Aardman Animations as well as creating costumes for BBC period Dramas and The Bristol Old Vic Theatre productions.
Along the way, I came to see fabric as more than a material to work with. To me, it is art, full of colour, texture and character. Mid-century designs hold a particular place in my heart, and preserving them has become the inspiration behind Custard House.
Today, I search around the world for vintage fabrics that are becoming increasingly rare. By framing these pieces, I give them a new life beyond their original purpose, preserving their beauty and turning them into artwork to enjoy in your home.
This website is a way of sharing that journey with you: a place where my background in design and my love of vintage textiles come together. Each framed piece is an invitation to bring a little design history, individuality and colour into your interiors.
Thank you for visiting Custard House and being part of its next chapter.
